the ageing face - pigmentation disorder - uv lights

Ultraviolet light, also known as natural light, is an effective method of treating a range of skin disorders. It can be used alone or in combination with other medications applied directly to the skin or taken internally. It can be used to successfully treat:

  • Psoriasis
  • Eczema
  • Skin pigmentation disorders
  • Acne

The Treatment
On your first visit you will have a private consultation with your personal Beacon Face & Dermatology Doctor, using 'Visia' UV photography to assess levels of sun damage, pigmentation and premature ageing. Phototherapy is prescribed after an evaluation by your dermatologist, who will take into consideration your medical history and skin condition. The skin is exposed to a particular band of the non-visible light spectrum. We also offer narrow band UV treatment, which is the safest and alternative treatment for patients with very fair skin which is a common Irish skin type.

Patients should follow their dermatologist’s treatment instructions exactly
